Multiwave’s PM Ytterbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier module is a high small-signal gain single polarization and polarization maintaining (SPM) amplifier for the wavelength band 1055 nm - 1075 nm, provided as a compact OEM module.

The optical amplifier is based on a dual stage configuration and performance is optimized for 1064 nm. The optical amplifier features over +17 dBm of saturated optical output power, over 28 dB of small-signal gain and low noise figure.

The optical amplifier includes input and output isolators and polarizers that block the power in the fast axis, ensuring high Polarization Extinction Ratio at the output. The optical amplifier module can be provided either as an optical gain block with integrated pump laser diodes, or as a complete optical amplifier also including drive and control electronics.

The same product can also be provided as a benchtop instrument.
