Multiwave Photonics is an industrial partner in European project HIRESOMI, an R&D project recently approved by the European Commission in the total amount of 2.3 MEuros. The project focuses on innovative optical technologies for high-resolution optical measurements and imaging, in particular, OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography).
The project is led by Prof. Adrian Podoleanu from University of Kent at Canterbury, in the UK, and also includes the following European partners: National University of Ireland at Galway (Ireland), Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (Portugal), Imagine Eyes (France) and Multiwave Photonics (Portugal).
Multiwave’s role in the project will be to develop and apply optical sources, both lasers and broadband sources near 1?m, for OCT applications. Multiwave will also receive 3 European Ph.D. students under the Marie Curie Fellowship Program, for varying periods of time up to 3 years.
