Multiwave Photonics, premier designer/manufacturer of high performance fiber based laser and amplifier products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Holtkamp as Vice President of World-Wide Sales. Bill is a very senior and successful manager and joins Multiwave with 22 years of photonics industry experience, most of which from leading OEM sales teams at top tier laser manufacturers. He has a strong customer focus background and is very familiar with fiber and DPSS laser technology, customers and applications. In his new job, Bill will be responsible for leading and managing Multiwave’s global sales efforts. His can-do spirit and interest in continuous improvement will help Multiwave identify the right partners and grow to its full potential. Multiwave Photonics is in the process of establishing its main US Office in Northern California, and Mr. Holtkamp will lead that office when he starts on July 26. Mr. Holtkamp will also coordinate Multiwave´s North America Sales Office in Missouri, in close collaboration with John Goings, North America Sales Manager.

Salcedo, CEO of Multiwave Photonics. “In particular, our MOPA-M-HP Series of pulsed fiber lasers are proving to be the first low cost pulsed fiber lasers capable of exceeding the performance offered by high finesse DPSS lasers, and are winning important recognition for outstanding value, performance and engineering”, said Dr. Salcedo, who was awarded the IEEE Photonics Society 2009 Engineering Achievement Award “in recognition of outstanding technical and leadership contributions to pulsed fiber lasers, in particular all-fiber ring laser architectures, and of his pioneering efforts aimed at developing, promoting and commercializing this technology in Portugal – and later in international markets”.
